THE COMIC PERFORMER
ABOUT CARTER GILL
Carter Gill, comedic performer, director, and teacher, is currently on faculty at Pace University and Rider University. He's trained as apprentice to Christopher Bayes for many years, becoming one of a handful of teachers Bayes has mentored. Before studying with Philippe Gaulier in France, Carter received his MFA in Acting from the Yale School of Drama, his BFA in Directing from Southern Methodist University, and Shakespeare training from the British American Drama Academy.
THE COMIC PERFORMER, founded by Carter Gill, is a workshopping program designed to train anyone who craves more joy, beauty, bravery and fun in their lives. The pursuit of clown, commedia & bouffon can change the way an actor approaches a script, greets her audience and plays with her cohorts. Pleasure infuses all of our artistic endeavors, whatever the form, with a genuine appetite to investigate the beautiful and the violent, the passionate and the mysterious with an unrelenting curiosity. That curiosity that knows no politeness or worry is what keeps an actor alive to each and every moment onstage and makes for a dangerously magnetic and unpredictable performance.
